That question has been on my mind a lot lately.

Because here’s the thing — most of us are really good at doing.

Doing more.
Earning approval.
Chasing validation.

But what if we didn’t have to?

What if we woke up already knowing we’re loved — without striving, without proving, without performing?

That’s the kind of love God offers.

A love that isn’t earned, but given.

A love that’s constant, even when life is messy.

And when I really let that sink in?

It changes everything.

I don’t have to chase the next achievement to feel worthy.

I don’t have to be the “perfect” mom, wife, or friend to be valuable.

I get to live from a place of security — not because I’m flawless, but because I’m loved by a flawless God.

For years, I tried to prove my worth — in relationships, in achievements, even in how I showed up for others.

I thought if I did enough or was good enough, maybe I’d finally feel loved.

But striving for love left me exhausted.

The constant fear of not measuring up? It’s heavy.

Then I encountered the truth that changed everything:
💜God’s love isn’t something we earn.

It’s a gift, freely given.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

You don’t have to hustle for His affection.

You don’t have to prove your worth.

God loves you — fully, completely, right now.

Take a deep breath. Let that sink in.

You are already loved.

I Thought I Had to Earn Love… Until God Showed Me the Truth

There was a time when I truly believed love had to be earned.

I wouldn’t have said it out loud, but deep down, I lived like it was true.

If I did enough, pleased enough people, met enough expectations—then I would be worthy of love.

Then I would matter.

But the problem with this belief?

It left me exhausted, anxious, and constantly questioning my worth.

I remember one particular season when I felt completely unseen.

I was pouring myself out for others, saying “yes” when I was running on empty, and striving to meet a standard I couldn’t even define.

And still, I felt like I wasn’t enough.

One night, I sat alone with my Bible, weary and frustrated.

And as I flipped through the pages, God led me to a verse that stopped me in my tracks:

📖 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”– Romans 5:8

Did you catch that?

While we were still sinners.🤯

Not after we cleaned ourselves up.

Not after we proved our worth.

Right in the middle of our mess, God’s love was already fully given.

I had been striving for something I already had.

That night, I let go of the lie that love was something to be earned.

And instead, I started learning how to rest in the truth that I was already deeply loved—not because of what I do, but because of who God is.

If you’ve ever felt unseen, unworthy, or like you had to work for love, I want you to know this: You are already fully loved by the One who created you.

Nothing can change that.

Have you ever thought, Once I get married… once

Have you ever thought, Once I get married… once I have the baby… once I get the house… once I reach that goal… THEN I’ll be happy?

But then you get it… and the excitement fades.

So you set the next goal, hoping that this will be the thing that finally satisfies.

I know that cycle well.

But the truth?

We will never be fully satisfied here.

Not because we’re broken or ungrateful, but because we were created for something more.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says God has set eternity in our hearts—meaning our souls know we were made for something beyond this world.

Every longing for more, every ache for something better, is actually pointing us home—to Jesus.

That doesn’t mean we can’t find joy here (because God gives us so much goodness!), but it does mean that even in our best moments, this is just a glimpse of what’s coming.

We chase things that fade, but God offers what lasts forever.

For years, I wrestled with feeling unseen—until I realized I was looking for validation in the wrong places.

I wanted to be noticed.

To feel like I mattered.

Whether it was through friendships, social media, or just hoping someone would acknowledge me, I constantly looked for signs that I was important.

And when I didn’t feel seen? The doubt crept in.

Am I not enough?
Do I even matter?

But then God showed me something life-changing: I was never unseen.

I had just been looking in the wrong direction.

Hagar’s story in the Bible (Genesis 16) was the wake-up call I didn’t know I needed.

She was alone, abandoned, and felt invisible—yet in that wilderness, God met her.

He saw her.

She was so moved by this encounter that she called Him El Roi—“The God Who Sees Me.”

And that same God sees you too.

When you feel unnoticed, He sees you.

When you feel forgotten, He remembers you.

When you wonder if anyone cares, He loves you deeply.

The world’s approval is fleeting, but God’s gaze is steady.

He calls you chosen, beloved, and seen—no validation required.
